Whether it is operating a large tip truck, commercial bobcat and ultra-compact excavator, we have both the performance and flexibility needed to operate in the commercial earthmoving sector. Our quality equipment allows our highly skilled and experienced operators to tackle the most challenging excavation projects with ease and manage the project to completion. Owning our own equipment, we have the ability to take on large or small projects.
Our experienced operators provide speed and precision and whether it is your ideas, our design, or something in between, HIS has the equipment and know-how to bring your project to life.

Site Clearing, Excavation and Bulk Earthworks
The first step in any civil construction project is site clearing which involves removing any trees, vegetation, rubbish and any old, unwanted structures from the site. Upon completion, the excavators commence work.
Once completed, the bulk earthworks stage of the pre-construction stage commences which includes the removal, moving or adding of large quantities of soil or rock from a particular area to another. This can be achieved by excavating the area or constructing a new area by adding earth-based materials to a certain area of the site.
All our projects are completed to the highest standard using the best equipment, people and materials available. We care about the environment and endeavour to ensure we conduct ourselves in an environmentally friendly manner. When bulk earthworks are taking place, we aim to re-use as much of the excavated materials as possible, to prevent the costly collection of waste material and the delivery of extra earth materials. How much earth we need to add or remove can be calculated with specialised computer software. We strive to preserve the environment and dispose of waste in an environmentally friendly manner; anything that we can recycle, gets recycled, making savings for the environment and project costs.
Equipment required to deliver this work varies depends on the scope and specific site conditions. We use the following equipment to prepare a site for commercial or industrial construction projects and ensure that only trained professionals operate the equipment ensuring all work is completed to the applicable standards:
- Front end loaders
- Excavators (five tonnes to 20 tonnes)
- Semi-trucks and tippers
- Positrak
- Bobcats
- Plate compactors and vertical rammers
